Clay Pit Ponds State Park Preserve Clay Pit Ponds State Park Preserve is state park of the U.S. state of New York, located near the southwestern shore of Staten Island. It is the only state park located on Staten Island. The park is a 260-acre nature preserve, comprising wetlands, ponds, sand barrens, spring-fed streams, and woodlands. It includes pitch pine woods, and rare wildflowers such as cranberry, lizard-tail, possumhaw, and bog twayblade. |

Miller Field - 1 Viewing Miller Field was a United States Air Force facility on Staten Island, New York, in New Dorp. It was founded in November 1919 and completed in 1921. The Miller Army Air Field Historic District is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Currently the field is also in use as a local park, with baseball and soccer fields. It hosts the Staten Island Philharmonic Orchestra in the summer. |

Mount Loretto Unique Area Mount Loretto Unique Area is a 194-acre open space reserve and nature preserve. Mount Loretto has approximately one mile of shoreline fronting Prince's Bay and Raritan Bay. Along the shoreline are the highest ocean facing bluffs in New York State, the highest point, reaching a height of 75 feet (23 m). The bluffs are part of the terminal moraine, deposits of clay and gravel during periods of glaciation, the last being the Wisconsin Glacier which reached its southernmost terminus in Staten Island. |
