A protected Forever Wild site because of its valuable ecological assets, Clove Lakes Park has a rich natural history and a few remnants of the past that remain and continue to thrill visitors. Chief among them are the park's lakes and ponds, outcroppings of serpentine rocks, and Staten Island's largest living things, a three hundred year-old tulip tree.

The area of the park was once part of Bentley Manor owned by the Billop family. The Henry Hogg Biddle house constructed between 1845 and 1853 is another historic structure in the park.

Fort Wadsworth is a former United States military installation on Staten Island in New York City, situated on The Narrows which divide New York Bay into Upper and Lower halves, a natural point for defense of the Upper Bay and Manhattan beyond.

Hoffman Island is one of two small artificial islands in the Lower New York Bay, off South Beach, Staten Island. A smaller island, known as Swinburne Island, lies immediately to the south.

Miller Field was a United States Air Force facility on Staten Island, New York, in New Dorp. It was founded in November 1919 and completed in 1921. The Miller Army Air Field Historic District is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Currently the field is also in use as a local park, with baseball and soccer fields. It hosts the Staten Island Philharmonic Orchestra in the summer.

Mount Loretto Unique Area is a 194-acre open space reserve and nature preserve. Mount Loretto has approximately one mile of shoreline fronting Prince's Bay and Raritan Bay. Along the shoreline are the highest ocean facing bluffs in New York State, the highest point, reaching a height of 75 feet (23 m). The bluffs are part of the terminal moraine, deposits of clay and gravel during periods of glaciation, the last being the Wisconsin Glacier which reached its southernmost terminus in Staten Island.

The Narrows is the tidal strait separating the boroughs of Staten Island and Brooklyn in New York City. It connects the Upper New York Bay and Lower New York Bay and forms the principal channel by which the Hudson River empties into the Atlantic Ocean.

Richmond University Medical Center is a hospital in West New Brighton, Staten Island in New York City. The hospital occupies the buildings that were formerly St. Vincent's Medical Center, which closed in 2006.

It was once a home for aged sailors and is now an 83-acre city park. Some of the buildings and the grounds are used by arts organizations under the umbrella of the Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden.

South Beach is situated immediately to the south of the Staten Island side of the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Directly east of the beach is Hoffman Island, and Swinburne Island.

The garden includes The New York Chinese Scholar's Garden, built in 1998. In 2005, it was among 406 New York City arts and social service institutions to receive part of a $20 million grant from the Carnegie Corporation, which was made possible through a donation by New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The museum stresses a hands-on interactive approach to its exhibits and currently offers visitors nine separate exhibit areas. Current exhibits include House About It (Home building), Bugs and other insects, Its a Dog's Life, Great Explorations, Sea of Boats, Ladder 11, Portia's Playhouse and Big Games.

The Staten Island Ferry is a passenger ferry service operated by the New York City Department of Transportation that runs between the boroughs of Manhattan and Staten Island.

Staten Island Museum is Staten Island’s oldest cultural institution, and the only remaining general interest museum in New York City.

The Staten Island Rapid Transit Operating Authority is the operator of the lone rapid transit line in the borough of Staten Island, New York City, New York, United States. It is considered a standard railroad line, but only freight service along the western portion of the North Shore Branch is connected to the national railway system.

Swinburne Island is the smaller of two artificial islands located in the Lower New York Bay east of South Beach, Staten Island.
